Khanapur Police raided a lodge in Belagavi district on Wednesday, arresting 11 men involved in operating a prostitution racket.
Following a tip-off, officers raided Amantran Lodge located along the Belagavi-Panaji National Highway. During the operation, five women were rescued and the arrested individuals were booked under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (ITPA).
The women have been transferred to the District Women’s Rehabilitation Centre for care.
A case was registered against lodge owner Vinayak Laxman Manjarekar, who was taken into custody, presented in court, and sent to judicial custody.
