Karnataka government has granted administrative approval for a ₹15 crore project to develop the Jodukere (Twin Lakes) in Athani town, located in Belagavi district. The approval was given during a cabinet meeting held on January 30. This project aims to enhance the visual appeal of the lakes and introduce modern amenities to attract tourists to the area.
Once completed, the project is expected to not only beautify the lakes but also boost tourism in the region. Additionally, it is anticipated to provide a significant economic uplift to the local community by drawing more visitors and generating new business opportunities.
