In Belagavi, Member of Legislative Council Prakash Hukkeri inaugurated the Janata Darshan public grievance redressal event on Tuesday. He expressed optimism that the State-level Janata Darshan initiative would alleviate the inconvenience experienced by the public, who often have to navigate a complex bureaucratic process.
Member of Legislative Assembly Asif (Raju) Sait highlighted the program’s ability to streamline the complaint submission process for the public, allowing them to submit multiple grievances through a single channel.
Unfortunately, Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, the district’s in-charge Minister, couldn’t attend the event due to health concerns, as confirmed by officials.
The Statewide launch of the event took place in Bengaluru, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah initiating the program on Monday.
The Janata Darshan event in Belagavi witnessed a substantial turnout from the general public. Eight dedicated counters were set up to facilitate the submission of complaints, which were efficiently received by officials.
Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil announced that similar events, presided over by the district in-charge Minister, would be held monthly, with additional sessions at the taluk level occurring every 15 days under the Deputy Commissioner’s guidance.
All grievances collected during these events would be documented on the State-level Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS) website. Most complaints would be addressed at the district level, with only a select few requiring escalation to the State government.
During the event, dignitaries distributed essential kits to beneficiaries of various departmental schemes.
In attendance were MLAs Babasaheb Patil and Vishwas Vaidya, ZP CEO Harshal Boyer, Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vijay Kumar Honkeri, City Corporation Commissioner Ashok Dudagunti, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohan Jagdish, Assistant Commissioner Madhav Gitte, Deputy Secretary Basavaraj Hegganayak, Joint Director of Agriculture Shivanagouda Patil, and Social Welfare Joint Director Lakshman Babali, among others.
