The Hindalga jail, frequently making headlines due to various controversies, was raided by the Metropolitan Police early this morning. Over 260 officers and personnel, including Police Commissioner Yada Martin Marbnyang and Law and Order DCP Rohan Jagdish, participated in the operation.
During the raid, authorities confiscated several items including a tobacco packet, cigarettes, three knives, a bundle of heater wire, an electrical stove, and other goods. A case has been filed at Belgaum Rural Police Station, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police Commissioner Yada Martin Marbnyang stated to the media, “We carried out the raid based on the information we received. We have registered a case and will investigate how these items, such as cigarettes and tobacco packets, were smuggled into the prison and who was responsible. A report will be submitted to senior officials following the investigation.”
