Continuous rainfall in Belgaum district has resulted in 22 bridges being submerged, cutting off access to several villages. The inclement weather has also claimed the lives of four individuals so far. According to KSNDMC data, Belgaum district has recorded 398 mm of rainfall from June 1 to July 22, significantly higher than the average normal rainfall of 283 mm during the same period.
During this period, there has been a 41% increase in rainfall. Khanapur taluk received 1,265.9 mm of rainfall, while Athani taluk received 167.3 mm. Reports indicate that over 64 hectares of agricultural and horticultural crops suffered damage due to the rain.
