A 52-year-old man was arrested by Gokak police in Belagavi district for allegedly possessing an unlicensed revolver in his car. The accused has been identified as Ramesh Chouhan, a resident of Bagalakot district.
Police intercepted Chouhan’s SUV at Court Circle in Gokak city and conducted a search, during which the revolver was recovered. Upon verification, it was found that the firearm licence had not been renewed and that he did not hold valid documentation.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act, and Chouhan has been taken into custody. Further investigation is being carried out by Gokak city police.
