Mehboobsaab B. Badbade, a retired KAS officer and former Special Deputy Commissioner, passed away in Belagavi on Sunday night at the age of 85.
Following his retirement, he established the Consortium of Minorities Association, an NGO that operates educational institutions, a certificate centre for Urdu, Arabic, and Persian, as well as a distance learning centre affiliated with Kuvempu University.
He also initiated free tailoring and handicraft training programs for underprivileged women and launched short-term courses to support youth preparing for competitive exams.
In 2018, he was among the guest speakers at The Hindu’s career guidance session.
District in-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi and several other leaders have conveyed their condolences.
