Niranjan Hiremath, father of Neha Hiremath and a Councillor in the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), urges voters to choose the Congress candidate in Belgaum.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the residence of Women & Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar in Belgaum on Thursday, Hiremath stated that the entire Muslim community should not be held responsible, as they have also protested and called for capital punishment for the accused Fayaz Khondunayak.
Hiremath urged voters to back Mrinal Hebbalkar for the Belgaum parliamentary seat, emphasizing the need for a representative from the Veerashaiva Lingayat community in Parliament to advocate for justice for his daughter.
Hiremath stated that Mrinal Hebbalkar, who hails from the Veerashaiva Lingayat community, is running in the Lok Sabha elections. He urged Belgaum voters to back the young candidate, emphasizing the community’s desire for representation in Parliament to advocate for Neha’s cause. Hiremath also expressed his commitment to remain affiliated with the Congress party and support Hebbalkar.
Neha Hiremath’s tragic murder on April 18 at the BVB Campus sparked outrage among the people of Karnataka. Geeta Hiremath, Neha’s mother, and MLC Channaraj Hattiholi also attended the meeting.
