A collision occurred between two motorcycles resulting in the death of one young man and serious injury to another.
The collision occurred close to a gas station along the Jatta-Jamboti main highway, between Gundevadi Parthanahalli in Athani Taluk. The deceased, identified as Mallaiah Mathapathy (21) from Balligeri in Athani taluk, lost his life in the accident. Another motorcyclist, a young man from Vajravadi village in Maharashtra, suffered severe injuries and has been hospitalized for medical treatment. The Athani Police Station has filed a case regarding the incident.
