Severe rainfall has caused significant damage across numerous districts in the state, resulting in two fatalities due to lightning strikes in Chikkodi. Among the victims were a man and a woman, and the incidents occurred in several villages within Belgaum district.
In Hebbal of Hukkeri taluk, Guru pundalik succumbed to a lightning strike while he was standing under a tree after completing his work in the fields. Furthermore, twelve sheep were also struck by lightning in an outlying area of Sankeshwar taluk. In another occurrence outside Raybag, Shobha Krishna Kulagod, aged 45, was struck by lightning while engaged in agricultural activities in the evening.
