Former Minister and BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa has warned that the Congress government in Karnataka could face collapse if the portrait of Savarkar is removed from Suvarna Soudha in Belgaum.
Speaking at a press conference in Shivamogga on Tuesday, Eshwarappa dared the Congress government to take action against the portrait, emphasizing that its presence had been accepted by leaders of all parties during its installation. He asserted that removing the portrait now could lead to the swift collapse of the government.
Commenting on the recent assault on BJP worker Gokul Krishna in Bhadravati, Eshwarappa attributed the attack to political motives and criticized the authorities for not yet arresting the accused. He expressed concern over the increasing criminal activities, stating that the state is heading towards a scenario resembling a “Goonda Rajya.” Additionally, he expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370.
