The Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority is setting up district offices to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are included under various schemes, according to authority chairman H.M. Revanna. Speaking at the inauguration of the district-level office on the premises of the Belagavi Zilla Panchayat on Wednesday, Revanna emphasized the importance of reaching out to vulnerable populations through these new offices.
Revanna highlighted the objectives of the District Level Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee, stating, “Many people have benefited from the schemes, but it is our duty to ensure more effective implementation and to reach all eligible individuals.” He added that the office aims to focus on the most vulnerable sections of society.
He further noted that Congress-led governments have consistently implemented pro-people initiatives in the state. “Low-cost housing, land reforms, free ration, student scholarships, free electricity, and other schemes have lifted countless families out of poverty,” he said. Revanna also emphasized the government’s focus on women’s empowerment through various programs.
He called on officers and civil society to collaborate with the committee to ensure the smooth implementation of the schemes.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi remarked that the schemes have been running smoothly for over a year and urged district and taluk-level officers to promptly address public grievances. He stressed that local committee members should engage with people at the taluk level to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach deserving beneficiaries.
Belagavi district committee president Vinay Navalagatti called for the active cooperation of officers to ensure that eligible individuals are included in the schemes. Other attendees included Belagavi Urban Development Authority chairman Laxmanrao Chingle, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde, and Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Basavaraj Hegganayak.
