The South Sub-Registrar Office in Subhash Chandra Nagar, Belagavi, is set to be relocated due to concerns over accessibility and financial strain on the government. The decision, initiated by the District Guardian Minister, has been confirmed by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan.
Originally established in a BSNL-leased building to serve the southern part of the city and 72 surrounding villages, the office’s current location remains inconvenient for many residents, who must travel to the North Sub-Registrar Office for documents issued before 2003, located seven kilometers from the central bus stand.
The government has also been incurring an annual rent of Rs 9,52,968 (Rs 79,414 per month) for the current office, contributing to financial pressure. To address these issues, the office will be relocated to the North Sub-Registrar Office premises near the Collectorate, aiming to improve citizen access and reduce costs.
