Ramdurg Police have filed a case against unidentified individuals following a complaint by a Dalit youth, who alleged he was assaulted during a village fair in Kunnal, Belagavi district.
According to the complaint filed by Laxman Madar, a group of five to six people attacked him after he objected to them forcibly throwing coloured water on women from his family.
“The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital. He is currently recovering. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the culprits,” said Additional Superintendent of Police Ramagonda Basaragi.
