Tension gripped Chikkodi town in Karnataka’s Belgaum district when posters disparaging Tipu Sultan, and other minority community kings. The incident prompted heightened security measures by the police to maintain order.
In response to the insulting posters, members of the minority community called for immediate action against those responsible and urged authorities to take steps against individuals sharing such content on WhatsApp. Deputy SP C.B. Goudar and senior police officers promptly arrived at the scene, with over 50 police personnel deployed for security.
As the incident coincided with Diwali celebrations, the police have heightened security in sensitive areas. Chikkodi police have registered a case in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation.
