A public transport bus veered into a sugarcane field near Navalihal village in Kagwad taluk of Belagavi district after the driver lost control due to a technical fault. The incident occurred on Thursday, leaving several passengers with minor injuries.
The NWKRTC bus, traveling from Vijayapura to Belagavi via Athani with 55 passengers onboard, was diverted into the field by the driver to prevent a potentially serious accident after the technical issue arose.
Passengers with minor injuries received treatment at hospitals in Athani and nearby areas.
Kagwad Police Sub-Inspector G.G. Biradar and other officials visited the scene to assess the situation.
