A major collision between a milk tanker and a college bus resulted in over 16 injuries to students from DY Patil Agriculture College Kolhapur on Friday evening. The accident took place near the zoo in Bhutaramanhatti on National Highway, near Belgaum.
The students, who were on an educational excursion from Kolhapur to Dharwad University, had paused at the Rani Channamma Mini Zoo close to Rani Channamma University. The collision occurred while they were returning to Kolhapur following their visit.
After the accident, the injured students were quickly transported to BIMS (Civil) Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have filed a case related to the incident at the Yamakanamaradi Police Station.
