A heated altercation between two groups over a pigeon valued at Rs 1,500 escalated into a physical brawl during a Jain fair in Bastawada village on Thursday, December 5. Both parties filed complaints and counter-complaints.
Aditya Kallappa Patil and Darshan Bahubali Kudachi, who were attending the Jain fair in Bastawada, engaged in a dispute over the pigeon. This resulted in Aditya Patil and eight others assaulting Darshan Kudachi. Following this, a case was registered at the Hirebagewadi police station. The authorities have since arrested three individuals connected to the assault and placed them in judicial custody.
Subsequently, Darshan Kudachi and his associates reportedly retaliated by entering Aditya Patil’s residence in Basavana Kudachi village. They allegedly confronted his father and brother, and vandalized the house by breaking the TV and windows, damaging kitchen utensils, and tying his father’s hands with a rope. They also reportedly issued threats to set the house on fire.
In response to the second incident, a case was lodged at Malamaruti police station. The police have arrested six individuals in connection with this retaliation and have also placed them in judicial custody.
