A private school teacher has stirred controversy after allegedly punishing a student for taking part in an RSS march. Parents have accused the teacher of publicly humiliating the student by displaying his Ganesh photo and Facebook video in class.
The incident took place in a private school in Belgaum’s Camp area, where a fifth-grade student was reportedly reprimanded on Monday for joining the RSS procession held on Sunday. BJP Mahila Morcha State Secretary Dr. Sonali Sarnobat has condemned the teacher’s actions.
Parents stated that since Sunday was a holiday, the child’s participation was a personal choice, but the teacher viewed it politically, affecting the student’s morale.
Dr. Sarnobat demanded that the school management issue a clarification and the teacher tender a public apology, warning of protests if no action is taken.
