In defiance of a government ban on birthday celebrations in government offices, a huge cake-cutting event occurred in the Belagavi Social Welfare Department.
Although there is a clear directive prohibiting private events like birthday celebrations in government premises, department staff member Praveena Metri organized a cake-cutting ceremony, which several office members attended. This act openly disregarded the government’s order.
Among those present for the celebration were the Joint Director of the Social Welfare Department, Raman Gowda Kannoli, staff members, Dalit leader Mallesh Chowgale, and others. A video of the event has since gone viral on social media, sparking public outrage over the violation of the ban.
