Thieves broke open shutters and stole goods worth ₹26,000 from Pangula Galli late Wednesday night.
In one shop, the burglars forced open the shutter and escaped with ₹10,000 in cash and silver items worth ₹12,000. At another shop, they damaged the shutter and key, managed to steal ₹4,000 in cash, and fled.
The shops belonging to Pukhraj Devasi of Aryan Shop and Parashuram Teradala of Hindustan Trading were targeted. Both had closed their outlets after business hours on Wednesday. From Aryan Shop, cash and 100 grams of silver chawl were taken, while ₹4,000 was taken from Hindustan Trading.
The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras. The theft came to light when the owners arrived the next morning. Market Police Station has registered a case and is investigating based on the footage.
