Two airports within the state have been listed among the top five airports in the customer satisfaction survey carried out by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). According to the AAI’s Customer Satisfaction Index for Airports Round-II 2023, compared to Round-I 2023, Belgaum airport achieved the fourth position, while Hubballi airport secured the fifth position.
The survey evaluates 33 factors, encompassing aspects such as ground transportation to and from the airport, parking amenities, availability of baggage carts, waiting time at check-in counters, effectiveness and demeanor of check-in staff, thoroughness of security checks, affordability and quality of dining options, comfort of waiting areas, availability of internet/Wi-Fi, and more. Moreover, the survey includes five questions pertaining to cleanliness, which were included due to the ongoing pandemic.
The Belgaum airport attained a rating of 4.97, while the Hubballi airport achieved a rating of 4.95. Among the 58 airports surveyed, the Bhopal airport topped the list with a perfect score of 5 on the index. The Belgaum airport received low scores in the courtesy and helpfulness of check-in staff, as well as in the value for money of restaurant/eating facilities and shopping facilities parameters.
Two additional airports in the State, namely Mysuru and Kalaburagi, were also included in the list, securing the 22nd and 29th positions, respectively.
