The Hubballi Police have arrested two burglars from different districts and recovered stolen property worth ₹19.50 lakh. The arrests follow a thorough investigation into a house burglary reported on June 20, 2024, within the Gokul Road Police Station area.
The accused, identified as Deepak, also known as Rohan (28) from Khanapur, Belgaum, and Shivanagayya, also known as Shivanagu (26) from Ron, Gadag, have been arrested. Their apprehension has resulted in the resolution of eight house burglary cases spanning multiple police jurisdictions, including Gokul Road, Vidyanagar, Belgaum Marihal, Khanapur, and Belgaum Malamaruti.
The operation was led by ACP Shivaprakash Naik of the North Sub-division, with Police Inspector Praveen Neelammanavar from Gokul Road Police Station heading the investigative team.
Recovered items from the burglaries include 244 grams of gold ornaments, 2500 grams of silver ornaments, one laptop, one scooter, two watches, and a motorcycle used in the thefts. Following their apprehension, the accused have been placed in judicial custody while investigations proceed. The Commissioner of Police praised the Gokul Road Police team for their prompt response and effective handling of the case, which led to the swift resolution of the burglaries.
