In a recent meeting held in Bangalore, it was decided that the Belgaum City Corporation must submit the survey report for the 112-acre area within the Belgaum Cantonment Board limits within the next eight days. Once submitted, further actions will be taken.
The state government organized the meeting, which was attended by key officials, including Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, Municipal Commissioner Ashok Dudgunti, Cantonment Board CEO Rajeev Kumar, and other authorities.
The survey, carried out by a team formed by the Municipal Corporation under the district collector’s instructions, focused on the 112 acres allocated by the Cantonment Board. However, area residents are dissatisfied, demanding that the bungalow area also be included in the survey. Although three online meetings have been held on this issue, no resolution has been reached.
The Cantonment Board’s boundary covers 1,763 acres, including both military and residential areas. While the Board is expected to hand over the Bazaar area, citizens are advocating for the inclusion of the bungalow area as well.
The sudden offline meeting in Bangalore has shifted attention to the upcoming discussions, where these issues are likely to be further addressed.
