The Karnataka State Transport Department continues its infrastructural upgrades by constructing a new Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Belagavi. During his visit to the Belagavi and Bagalkot RTOs, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed that the new facility will be operational by April 2025.
With ₹9.74 crore sanctioned for its reconstruction, the upcoming building will accommodate both the Regional Transport Office and the Joint Transport Commissioner, Belagavi Division. The minister stressed the importance of timely completion to enhance service efficiency.
During the visit, Reddy reviewed the Belagavi RTO’s performance, which has met its 2024-25 revenue target, collecting ₹232.6 crore. Additionally, the office has taken action against 5,076 vehicles, imposing fines amounting to ₹95.29 lakh.
The minister urged officials to maintain a public-friendly approach, ensuring prompt service delivery while focusing on revenue growth and increased HSRP registrations, without unnecessary delays.
