A 32-year-old homemaker, Savita Maruti Jogani, was discovered dead at her residence in Sambra, Belagavi, on Sunday.
Her relatives have alleged suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and have called for an investigation.
The family has accused her husband, Maruti Jogani, a government schoolteacher, of subjecting her to years of harassment. The couple had been married for six years.
A case has been registered, and further inquiry is underway.
