A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Baradanahalli, Kurugodu taluk of Bellary district, where a mother ended her life by jumping into a farm pond along with her three young daughters following a domestic dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Siddamma (30), a native of Belagavi. She had come with her husband, Kumar, to Baradanahalli to graze sheep and had set up a pen on the land of one Raghavendra. On June 17, an argument broke out between the couple. Later that day, while grazing sheep, Siddamma pushed her daughters, Abhigna (8), Avani (6), and Arya (4) , into a nearby farm pond before jumping in herself.
As the family didn’t return by evening, Kumar grew concerned. Upon noticing the sheep standing unattended near the pond, he went to check and discovered the horrifying scene. He immediately informed his relatives.
A case has been registered at Kurugodu Police Station based on a complaint filed by Siddamma’s brother, and an investigation is underway.
This devastating loss of four lives stands as a grim reminder of the irreversible consequences that can arise from momentary rage and impulsive decisions.
