The Department of Tourism has unveiled a new website, www.belagavitourism.com, to enhance Belagavi’s tourism appeal and provide travelers with an easy-to-use platform to explore the district’s rich offerings. Launched on Wednesday, this digital platform is designed to help visitors discover a variety of attractions and plan their trips conveniently.
Joint Director of the Tourism Department, Soumya Bapat, highlighted that the website acts as a comprehensive guide, allowing travelers to explore key landmarks, natural wonders, and cultural sites based on their preferences. The site offers detailed information on the must-visit spots across the region, ensuring a seamless experience for those planning a visit.
Along with the website, the tourism department also launched a brochure, a calendar, and a coffee table book titled Belagavi Tourism 2025, which showcases the district’s scenic landscapes and cultural heritage in a visually appealing format.
The new website features a clickable map, allowing visitors to easily access information on tourist spots, distances, photo galleries, and transportation options. New tourist spots, along with suggestions from daily visitors, will be continuously updated to keep the content fresh. Additionally, popular destinations and waterfalls along the Karnataka-Maharashtra and Karnataka-Goa borders will be added to the website.
Soumya Bapat also shared that the cable car project at Savadatti Shri Yallamma Devi Temple is currently in the DPR stage. The project, which aims to connect the temple area to Jogula Bhavi via a rope-way, is expected to enhance tourism by providing easier access for visitors.
