The Belagavi Technology Companies Association (BeTCA) is set to host the Belagavi Tech Meet-Up 2.0 (BTMU-2.0) at the Belgaum Presidency Club on September 22, aligning with the government’s vision of Beyond Bengaluru. This event, the second edition of its kind, aims to convene entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from the Belagavi region and beyond to facilitate collaboration and business growth.
Last year’s meet-up attracted a substantial turnout of more than 700 participants, including tech enthusiasts, startup founders, and investors. According to R.K. Patil, one of the event’s organizers, BeTCA’s goal has been to unite IT and ITeS companies in and around Belagavi, aligning with the state government’s broader vision.
Belagavi, with its burgeoning industrial hubs and emerging service sector, houses numerous companies involved in hardware, software, and firmware development. However, a cohesive network among these entities has been lacking. Ajit Patil, another organizer, believes that the IT meet-up will bridge this gap and propel the region forward.
The primary objective of BTMU-2.0 is to facilitate networking and collaboration among participants, enabling them to explore each other’s work and capitalize on shared ideas and strengths. Entrepreneurs from various locations, including the United Kingdom, Odisha, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Hubballi, and Kolhapur, will converge to make their presence felt.
In essence, the Belagavi Tech Meet-Up serves as a platform to showcase the outstanding contributions of talented individuals in Belagavi, both locally and globally. The event’s aim is to nurture connections among individuals with innovative ideas, technical expertise, financial resources, and the ability to create a thriving business ecosystem that generates more job opportunities.
Uday Kinjwadkar, a member of the organizing committee, emphasized the need for bridging gaps in the region’s business ecosystem. Belagavi boasts excellent educational institutions, but it requires facilitation systems like incubation centers to foster growth. The event seeks to create awareness about these essential needs.
The Belagavi Technology Companies Association represents a collective of IT and ITeS companies in Belagavi. The association, known as IT-Belagavi, will address various aspects such as human resources management, taxation issues, internet connectivity, and nurturing emerging talent in local colleges.
Ultimately, the BeTCA aims to establish a dynamic and supportive ecosystem that encourages innovation, growth, and collaboration. This association will serve as a central hub for knowledge exchange, enabling companies to tackle common challenges and tap into each other’s expertise. Moreover, it will provide valuable networking opportunities and partnerships, contributing to the overall development of the IT sector in Belagavi, as outlined by the organizers.
