Frustrated residents of Sambargi, under the Kagawad assembly constituency in Belagavi district, expressed their anger uniquely by planting corn saplings in the middle of the damaged road to highlight the authorities’ negligence.
The main road connecting Shirur and Salagare villages has been in poor condition for nearly two years, with incomplete development work and loose gravel causing severe inconvenience to commuters. Despite repeated complaints, officials have failed to take action.
As a sarcastic form of protest, locals planted corn on the road to draw attention to the long-pending issue. Even the people’s representatives were left surprised by this creative demonstration. The residents have urged the concerned department to complete the road work immediately and address their long-standing grievances.
