Jail authorities said he had been distressed over not being able to find a bride.
Vinod Tigade, a warder posted at the Central Prison in Hindalga in Karnataka’s Belagavi district, was found dead on March 11. His body was discovered in a tank on the outskirts of the city. He was a native of Mutnal village.
According to jail officials, he had been upset for some time as he was unable to find a suitable bride. He had recently constructed a house in Belagavi.
