The Belagavi City Police have launched a new initiative, “My Suggestions for My Belagavi City,” encouraging citizens to actively contribute to improving public safety, law enforcement, and civic services. Spearheaded by Commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, the initiative aims to collect direct feedback from residents on issues like traffic management, crime prevention, women’s safety, and community policing.
This move marks a push toward greater transparency, civic involvement, and collaborative governance.

Smart Policing: Traffic Reforms & Anti-Drug Efforts
Belagavi, July 23: Along with the feedback drive, the police have initiated scientific traffic planning and an intensified anti-drug campaign, reflecting a shift toward data-backed, proactive policing.
Commissioner Borase noted that Belagavi’s traffic concerns are being addressed with help from KLS Gogte Institute of Technology and a Bengaluru-based firm. Notable steps include:
- Reduced roadside checking, with most fines now issued digitally
- Plans to allow fine payments via Belagavi One centers
- Problem zones identified in coordination with transport authorities
Cybercrime and Drug Control Measures
With increasing online fraud cases, citizens are urged to report cybercrime promptly by calling 1970 or visiting the nearest station. “Quick reporting during the golden hour improves the chances of recovery,” said Borase, who also announced upcoming awareness campaigns on digital safety.
On the anti-drug front, stricter monitoring of interstate movements and community awareness is being prioritized. “Parents and teachers play a key role in early detection,” the Commissioner emphasized.
Strengthening the Chennamma Force & Community Outreach
To enhance safety, especially for women and students, the Chennamma Force will see increased patrolling near educational institutions and bus stands. The “Mane Manege Police” (Police at Every Doorstep) initiative is also being revived to rebuild trust and ensure regular interaction with citizens.
Despite 70% of the police force being involved in security duties, steps are being taken to modernize police stations and make them more citizen-friendly.
Your Voice Can Make a Difference
This digital feedback platform is more than just a form; it’s your opportunity to influence real change in Belagavi.
“Let’s make Belagavi better, one suggestion at a time,” concluded Commissioner Borase.
