Superintendent of Police Bheemashankar Guled inaugurated a spiritual awareness yatra by the Vishwa Prani Kalyan Mandali in Belagavi on Thursday.
Led by Sri Dayananda Swami, the yatra aims to raise awareness against animal slaughter and sacrifices during the Kakkeri Bhista Devi Temple fair in Belagavi district.
The seer urged devotees to engage in non-violent forms of worship instead of resorting to animal sacrifices.
The Superintendent of Police assured that law enforcement officers would enforce the High Court order that prohibits animal sacrifice during the event.
