A shocking incident unfolded in Belagavi when 31-year-old Praneetha Kumar, a resident of Dwarka, Tilakavadi, became the target of an unprovoked attack by his ex-girlfriend. In a violent confrontation, she resorted to gunfire after reportedly being unable to bear his actions any longer.
The shooting took place near (BEMUL) Belagavi Milk Union Limited in Mahantesh Nagar, resulting in Kumar sustaining gunshot wounds to his thigh and face. He is currently receiving medical treatment at BIMS Hospital. This violent act, fueled by personal grievances and unresolved issues from a past relationship, has led to a full-scale investigation by the local police.
Belagavi’s City Police Commissioner, Iada Martin, has personally taken charge of the case, visiting BIMS Hospital to monitor Kumar’s condition and ensure the investigation is moving forward. Kumar had been in a relationship with Veda, a woman from Mahanthesha Nagar, but they had broken up four years ago. Since then, he began a new relationship with Smita. However, the unresolved tensions from the past resurfaced, culminating in a violent outburst.
On the night of the incident, Kumar was having dinner at Smita’s house in Mahantesh Nagar when Veda, along with two companions, stormed in and shot Kumar in what appeared to be a premeditated attack. The assailants fled the scene, leaving behind chaos and a shaken community.
In response, the police have formed a special team to capture the culprits, who are currently on the run. The investigation is being led by the Metropolitan Police, who are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice. This incident serves as a stark reminder of how personal disputes can escalate into extreme violence, and it raises serious concerns about public safety.
The ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects underscore the commitment of the police to restore peace and prevent such violent acts from happening again in the community.
