Several high school teachers in Belagavi on Monday raised objections to being suddenly deputed for social and educational survey enumeration work.
Teachers said they were asked to attend training at the HESCOM function hall in Nehru Nagar without prior notice or their consent.
“We assumed only primary school teachers were assigned this task, but we have now been directed to report,” one teacher told reporters.
Block Education Officer Ravi Bhajantri later clarified that the matter had been settled.
“High school teachers have agreed to take up the duty and have also undergone training. We have assured them that those with illness, disabilities, nearing retirement, or pregnant will not be assigned. The issue stands resolved,” he said.
