Woman’s Suicide Attempt on Krishna River Bridge
The incident unfolded when a woman, troubled by a family dispute, ran onto the Krishna River flyover near Darur village and jumped into the river. Onlookers were left in shock and cried out for help. At that moment, Parasurama Gasti, who was passing by on his bike, didn’t hesitate—he jumped into the river to rescue her.
A Selfless Act of Courage
Parasurama, an agriculturist from Shegunashi village, was on his way to Athani for personal work when he witnessed the incident. Without a second thought, he plunged into the river and reached the drowning woman near the bridge pillars. With the support of a rope, he pulled her to safety.
Thanks to Parasurama’s brave efforts, the woman was saved, and the community is now hailing him for risking his life to rescue her.
