Speculation around the possible appointment of Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of KLE Society, as the Governor of Goa has stirred buzz across social media platforms and local news portals. However, Dr. Kore has firmly denied the reports, calling them baseless and misleading.
The rumors, initially circulated by the web portal Belagavi Suddi and subsequently shared widely online, suggested that Dr. Kore’s appointment was imminent and likely to be officially announced within two days. Despite the growing chatter, official sources have confirmed that no such development has taken place.
Responding to the speculation, Dr. Kore issued a public statement dismissing the news as false. He specifically named Belagavi Suddi editor Makandar as the originator of the unverified claims and urged the public not to fall for such unfounded information.
“This is entirely speculative and has no factual backing. I request people not to be misled by such fake news,” Dr. Kore clarified.
A prominent figure in North Karnataka, Dr. Kore has had a long-standing influence in politics, education, and healthcare. As Chairman of the KLE Society since 1984, he has overseen its expansion from 38 institutions to over 300, reaching even Delhi and Dubai. Politically, he has served one term in the Karnataka Legislative Council and three terms in the Rajya Sabha. He is also widely respected for his philanthropic efforts and deep-rooted connections with the Lingayat community.
Although the rumors suggested that the BJP leadership considered his name in recognition of his contributions and to strengthen Lingayat support in North Karnataka, no formal steps have been confirmed in this regard.
With no official confirmation and clear denial from Dr. Kore himself, the speculation appears to be unfounded—for now.
