Around 40 nursing students of KLE University reportedly fell ill on Sunday after consuming suspected food at their hostel. They were promptly given medical attention, and all have since recovered.
According to Dr. M. Dayanand, Medical Director of KLE Hospital, a few students showed mild symptoms and were kept under observation. Fifteen of them were admitted to Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Medical Research Centre for a day as a precaution, while the rest received treatment at the hostel itself.
Dr. Dayanand confirmed that no serious complications were reported and all students have been discharged. He credited the hospital’s emergency, medicine, and microbiology departments for their timely response in managing the situation.
A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the source and cause of the suspected food poisoning.
