The Enforcement Directorate (ED) continued its search for a 30th consecutive hour on Thursday at the homes of Public Works Minister Satish Jarakiholi, his relatives and close aides in Belagavi, seizing documents and tightening security around the properties, including his bungalow in Hill Garden, Gokak, and several other residences.
Officials are probing alleged illegal foreign transactions by Assistant Commissioner V.D. Manjunath and possible joint investments involving Rahul Jarakiholi and Manjunath, with teams camping at the houses to gather information.
The probe also targets the business dealings of Preeti Kakatkar and Manjunath’s wife, prompting the inclusion of female officers in the raid teams, while the surrounding areas remain under strict security.
A protest was staged on Wednesday night at Rani Channamma Circle by KPCC member Ayesha Sanadi and corporator Ramesh Sontakki, accusing the central government of launching raids aimed at backward‑class leaders.
KPCC leader D.K. Shivakumar labeled the ED action on Minister Satish Jarakiholi as politically motivated and linked it to allegations of illegal overseas investments.
