Kukke Subrahmanya police have apprehended three men from Belagavi who had been evading arrest for about a month in connection with multiple cases, including robbery and honeytrapping. The accused were wanted for cases registered at the Harugeri police station in Belagavi district.
Police received a tip that the trio had arrived in Kukke Subrahmanya, prompting local personnel to launch an operation to trace and apprehend them. With the help of local residents and autorickshaw drivers, police tracked the suspects and barricaded the road near the Kumaradhara river. The suspects were traveling in a Toofan vehicle when police intercepted it. All three men were taken into custody during the operation.
A team of Belagavi police had also arrived in Subrahmanya after receiving information about the suspects. Following their arrest by the local police, the Belagavi team took the three accused into custody. The accused were then transported to Belagavi for further investigation and legal proceedings in connection with the cases registered against them.
The arrest highlights the coordination between police teams from different districts in tracing suspects who allegedly evade arrest and move to other areas. Police are expected to investigate the alleged role of the three men in the robbery and honeytrapping cases and examine whether they were involved in any other offences.
