On Sunday, Jacqueline Mukangira, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to India, visited Belagavi to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral ties. Mukangira toured the Suvarna Soudha, the site of the State Legislature’s winter session, where District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi welcomed her. Jarkiholi, who had previously visited Rwanda, extended an invitation to Mukangira to visit Belagavi.
During her visit, Mukangira engaged with local officials and discussed local administration matters. She also met with industrialists to promote investment in Rwanda. Mukangira highlighted Rwanda’s favorable business environment, noting that setting up a company there is streamlined and cost-free, with permits from over 200 government departments processed within six hours.
In addition to her visit, Jarkiholi announced plans to establish an Indian Sports School in Rwanda, having already identified a site for the project. Speaking at the Belagavi-Rwanda Business Meet 2024, Jarkiholi praised Rwanda’s progress and expressed confidence in its business potential. He encouraged local entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in Rwanda, emphasizing the country’s rapid development and investment-friendly policies.
Mukangira underscored Rwanda’s safety, transparent regulatory environment, and its rapid economic growth.
