Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil has issued a strict directive, prohibiting any form of donation for children’s admission in both aided and unaided schools across the Belgaum district. He warned of severe consequences for schools found unlawfully accepting donations.
Reports have surfaced from the public indicating the acceptance of donations in certain schools, despite the ongoing academic session.
Admission should adhere strictly to the government-set fees and regulations. The Deputy Commissioner emphasizes that any discovery of illicit donations will result in the cancellation of school registrations as per the RTE Act.
Deputy Commissioner Patil stressed the importance of schools prominently displaying transparent information about admission fees on their notice boards to ensure parents and the public are adequately informed.
As per Section-2(b) of the Right to Education Act-2009, private schools must display the approved fees on their school websites, notice boards, and the departmental internet platform (S A T S) to provide information to parents and the public.
The objective of this initiative is to furnish parents and the general public with precise details regarding admission fees, thereby clarifying any ambiguity related to the admission procedure.
Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil has additionally mentioned that in case any school in the district seeks or accepts donations, the public is urged to immediately report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office or the Deputy Director of School Education (DDPI) office. He guarantees that necessary measures will be implemented against the involved schools upon receiving public complaints.
