Before the attention on the murder cases involving Neha Hiremth and Anjali Ambiger in Hubballi could diminish, a new incident has surfaced in Belgaum. Tippanna Dokare (27), described as mentally unstable and hailing from Kinai village in Belgaum taluk, allegedly issued death threats to a young woman and her mother from the same village.
Tippanna Dokare had been persistently bothering the woman for three years, pressuring her to marry him. She would often encounter him while going to college in Bidar, where he would follow her. Meanwhile, she resided with her mother in Kinai village, and Dokare had forced her to stop attending college because of his harassment. He had issued threats to the woman’s mother, demanding that they agree to his marriage proposal for her daughter. He warned that if they refused, he would resort to violence against both of them. Dokare, who was unemployed, spent his days drinking and wandering around the village.
Additionally, Tippanna had ignited a fire at the young woman’s house a few months back. She had lodged a complaint against Tippanna with the police three years earlier due to concerns over his behavior. This incident had been recorded at the rural police station in Belgaum. Upon being summoned by the police, Tippanna had been cautioned before being released. Following this incident, Tippanna had ceased bothering the young woman.
Currently, Tippanna has reignited his previous harassment, pelting stones and taunting the young woman’s residence. In reaction, both the young woman and her mother have appealed for protection and have met with authorities from the Belgaum police department. Following the officials’ recommendations, a police presence has been assigned to patrol the young woman’s home. This incident has occurred within the jurisdiction of the rural police station in Belgaum.
Tippanna also warned that the fate of the young women in Hubli awaits you, asserting that he has influence over the police. Home Minister Parameshwar should urgently engage with the Belgaum police chief to prevent a recurrence of incidents like those in Hubli.
