On Saturday, a group of government officials from Manipur successfully rescued a young girl employed at a privately-owned roadside eatery in the Belgaum district.
Five months ago, the girl departed from her home to Hyderabad, prompting her parents to file a police report. After spending some time working in Kerala, she recently relocated to Belgaum. Upon the arrival of the seven-member team from the Department of Child Welfare and Protection, the girl was accompanied by a third-gender individual.
Belgaum Police reported that the officers escorted her back to Manipur, where she will soon be reconnected with her family. After being taken to Tilakwadi Police Station, she conveyed her wish to reunite with her parents. The collaborative efforts of Deputy Commissioner of Police P.V. Sneha, Police Sub-Inspector M. Rukmini, District Child Welfare Officer Mahantesh Bhajantri, and other officials facilitated the coordination with the Manipur authorities, according to police sources.
