Belgaum police have apprehended nine out of 17 individuals accused of brutally assaulting a brother and sister in the city. The victims, residents of Yamnapur on the outskirts of Belgaum, were attacked while trying to register for the Yuva Nidhi scheme at Fort Lake premises. Technical difficulties with the registration process led to a three-hour assault, with the assailants mistakenly assuming a romantic involvement between the siblings.
