The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has urged for the urgent restoration of the deteriorated Belgaum-Goa Road via Ramnagar. RGP MLA Viresh Borkar submitted a memorandum to Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, seeking prompt attention to the issue. RGP functionary Aditya Dessai, who contested the recent assembly election from Curchorem, has initiated a signature campaign involving local traders and professionals to support this demand.
In an effort to ensure the concerns of Curchorem residents reach New Delhi, Dessai expressed optimism that Gadkari will prioritize the repair of the Belgaum-Goa highway. The memorandum emphasized the “crucial importance” of the road in facilitating trade and transportation between Goa and Belgaum. It called for immediate action to address the current state of disrepair, citing the hindrance to smooth transportation and the significant risks to commuter safety.
Dessai highlighted the persistent challenges faced by commuters, businesses, and locals on the Belgaum-Goa Road via Ramnagar. Issues such as potholes, uneven surfaces, and crumbling infrastructure have created obstacles for smooth transportation, posing safety hazards to both motorists and pedestrians.
