A farmer lost his life due to electrocution in Halyal village near Athani, Belagavi district, on September 15. The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Mallappa Sanju Shivapur.
According to sources, he was repairing an irrigation pump set in his field when he came in contact with a live current. Mallappa collapsed on the spot and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by his relatives, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
